John Erbey was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, awarded an A.B. degree from Allegheny College and a J.D. degree from Vanderbilt Law  School.

After law school he served as a Staff Judge Advocate in the U.S. Air Force in Delaware and Japan. During his service John was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal by the Secretary of the Air Force for his defense of an Airman in a General Court Martial and successful appeal to the Court of Military Appeals to require all military services to recognize Constitutional rights as part of the military justice system.

Upon an Honorable Discharge, John practiced business and securities law before joining the Law Department of Westinghouse Electric Corporation where he served as Associate General Counsel and Assistant Secretary.

In 1989 he joined his brother in Palm Beach County as a principal of Ocwen Financial Corporation and all its subsidiaries and retired in 2005. Since retirement John continues to volunteer at several non‐profits and manages the family foundation. John and his wife for more than 50 years, Bobbi, enjoy worshiping at Trinity Church by Christ Fellowship.

John and Bobbi have three children and seven of the best grandchildren, with whom they have traveled in six continents.
