About the Campaign
Welcome to our Champions for Children campaign! This new initiative will raise critical support for housing, services, education and enrichment programs for the young adults and children in our care. The Champions will help us raise awareness for the plight of young adults and raise financial support which will assist youth who have aged out of foster care, homeless young adults, single mothers, foster families and survivors of human trafficking.
Hi I’m Iris, proud mother of two beautiful daughters, Ella and Eden Mae, and wife to my amazing husband of 20 years. You might know me from my boutique catering company, Abril’s Table Catering and Events and most recently my new endeavor, The Board Babes. When Place of Hope asked me to be a Champion for Children, I did not hesitate! I am thrilled to help raise support for the aged out and homeless youth, single mothers and foster children at Place of Hope but most importantly victims of human trafficking. I want to bring awareness and education to the masses on the issues that dominate our youth everyday. Not only that, I want to be an example for my own children to stand up and do something for a cause you passionately believe in. I had a family member exposed to human trafficking at an early age. I am aware of the hurt and damage it causes. I want to help change people’s perspective on this issue that is mostly overlooked. I hope you will join me and show some love and support, be brave, stand up and speak up. Help us fight for the rights of those who need us most.
