Hurricane Irma Recovery

Giving Hope to Families in the Florida Keys

Place of Hope has been asked to lend a helping hand to the Florida Keys after the devastation they have faced from Hurricane Irma. Our staff, children and youth will be assembling “Care Kits” that will be driven down on Tuesday morning, September 19.  Our goal is to obtain enough financial support and items to assemble 500 kits.

Place of Hopes Founding CEO, Charles Bender, has been in contact with the Emergency Operations Center that is on the ground in Big Pine and Sugar Loaf Keys. Both of these areas were some of the hardest areas hit. The Emergency Operations Center in this area has two points of distribution that will go directly where there is the most need. We have been granted access.

3 ways you can be a part of restoring hope in the Florida Keys:

1. Donate Items for “Care Kits” (new only)

  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrush
  • Soap
  • Towel
  • Washcloth

3. Donate Your Time
On Monday, September 18, we will be putting the “Care Kits” together. If you would like to assist in the assembly of this we would love to have you! We are always looking for helping hands. Please come to our Paxson Campus between 10 AM and 7 PM to help us in this task.

Place of Hope is always so blessed with the generosity and love that comes from our supporters. We want to be able to show this same kindness to those who have been hit with tragedy in the keys.
