Primary Cottage Parents

Responsibilities:

The responsibility of the Primary Cottage Parents is to establish and maintain positive relationships with and ensure the best possible care for children placed in their care at all times. The position involves the combined efforts of a strong married couple in providing for the total care, teaching, nurturing, training, guiding and supervision of a specific assigned group of dependent, neglected and abused children. The couple must have a secure and healthy marriage with a distinct desire/vision to love and care for hurting children. Each couple will be responsible for six (6) children and youth (long and short term) as residents in an on-campus home.

Requirements:

  • Must maintain confidentiality of children/youth and program information at all times.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment with others and independently.
  • Must possess the ability to make responsible, sound recommendations and decisions under direction and in time of emergency.

Part-time Sales Associate at Treasures for Hope

The Sales Associate shall be responsible for assisting in certain tasks related to the administration of the office and general business affairs of Treasures For Hope, Inc. (and its affiliates) under the direct supervision of the General Manager.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist the store’s General Manager with daily operations.
  2. Process donations.
  3. Complete all other duties and requests in support of the organization as assigned.

Accounts Payable

Responsibilities

The Accounts Payable shall be responsible for assisting in certain tasks related to the administration of the offices and general financial affairs of Place of Hope, Inc. (and its affiliates) under the direct supervision of the Business Manager.

Requirements

  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree in applicable field
  • Must be able to multitask and operate efficiently in a fast paced environment
  • Must possess QuickBooks experience and the ability to maintain daily accounting information for the business

Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Technician shall be responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled construction, maintenance, modification, landscaping, and repair activities in assigned maintenance operations areas. Assisting in certain tasks related to the development, planning, and implementation of various maintenance projects and affairs of Place of Hope, Inc. (and it’s affiliates) under the direct supervision of the Business Manger.

Requirements:

  • The Maintenance Technician should (at a minimum) possess a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) and one year of assignment related maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Must be able to perform basic repair and maintenance activities.
  • Must be able to work independently and creatively while functioning as part of a cooperative and coordinated team.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to analyze and think critically.
  • Must be able to maintain flexibility, good judgment, and skill in time management.

Part-Time Support Staff for Joann’s Cottage

Responsibilities

The Support Staff will work in a consistent and scheduled (and emergency) relief care capacity in the absence of the Primary Care Couple. They will similarly create and provide a support system (consistent with that of the Primary Care Couple) so as to foster consistency in the family-style setting. The Support Staff will work under the supervision of and report directly to the Program Coordinator or designate.

Male Cottage Relief Parent

Responsibilities:

The Male Relief Parent will serve in a loving, structured, living and learning environment caring for six foster children. Place of Hope is looking for compassionate, dedicated, and loving team members. Relief parents receive competitive salaries and benefits. Must have at least one year of experience working directly with children.

Female Floater Relief Parent:

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the Female Relief Parent is to provide primary care in a relief capacity for the Professional (Primary Care) Parents. In this capacity, they will establish and maintain positive relationships with and ensure the best possible care for children placed in their care at all times. The position involves the effort of a qualified individual in providing for the total care, teaching, nurturing, training, guiding and supervision of a specific assigned group of dependent, neglected and abused children.

Requirements:

  • Individual must have/be: 1) high school diploma or equivalent (some college credits/courses preferred); 2) previous child care experience; 3) at least 21 years of age.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of children/youth and program information at all times.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment with others and independently.
  • Must possess the ability to make responsible, sound recommendations and decisions under direction and in time of emergency.
  • Must demonstrate qualities that enable effective interaction with children in group care, enjoy working as team members, and endeavor to meet the varying needs of each child within the organizational guidelines.

Part-Time Direct Care Staff for Seven Stars Emergency Cottage:

Responsibilities:

The part-time Direct Care Staff to serve in a loving structured, living and learning environment caring for boys ages 5 through 17 while in a temporary placement. We are looking for compassionate, dedicated, and loving team members.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must be at least 21 years old and have at least one year of experience working directly with children
  • Bilingual candidates, English-Spanish, would be beneficial
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment with others and independently
  • Possess the ability to make responsible, sound recommendations and decisions under direction and in emergency situations
  • Must become familiar with, understand and uphold all confidentiality and abuse reporting requirements, as dictated by law

Part Time Educator – Hope House, FL

Responsibilities:

The Educator will work 10 hours per week with the assigned Program Coordinator and the Hope House Coaches as well as the Director of Clinical Services and report directly to the Director of Clinical Services or designate. Actively participate, as a member of the multidisciplinary team, to ensure an educational plan is written and implemented for all of the girls in the Hope House, Florida.  Advocate meeting all the educational needs of the children by gathering their academic information from previous schools/sources and all multidisciplinary team members. Conduct class/teaching on a daily basis and track their grades and progress.  Function as a liaison for the children and families with DCF/CFC and other community agencies to develop a referral and resource network to meet their academic needs. Link the girls with all services needed to meet/achieve academic goals. Serve as a role model for the girls and their families. Provide monthly written progress reports for each girl. Serve as a role model in carrying out the mission, following the principles and reflecting the values of Hope House, Florida.

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in education and a teaching certificate with two years’ experience working with youth
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a desire and be capable of making a long-term commitment to caring for children
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Must have a concern for girls in need and a strong desire to actively assist with our mission and philosophy
  • Must have a perceived ability to implement all phases of the Hope House, Florida, a Family-Style model of care including all residential, programmatic, and administrative functions
  • Must possess an ability to work flexible hours and effectively manage multiple assignments in order to assist the Program Coordinator and the Hope House Coaches with resident’s home activities

Part Time Coach – Hope House, FL

Responsibilities:

A Coach is a Part Time or Full Time employee that will serve in a loving, structured, living and learning environment for young girls who are victims of human sex trafficking. They will be responsible to provide total care, teaching, nurturing, training, guiding and supervision for five (5) adolescent girls in our safe house. This is a direct role in which our coaches are intentional about creating relationships with each of the girls, engaging them in meaningful activities, and being an active participant in the process of healing and restoration.  We are a strength-based facility that provides an environment in which we honor each girl as an individual, seek to build skill deficits, and process and cope with past traumatic experiences, with the goal of transitioning back into the community.  Our coaches seek to cultivate a positive environment and have teachable spirits.
