Joseph Berardo, Jr., age 57, currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the board of directors of Carisk Partners, Inc., a specialty risk transfer and care-coordination company that services, Medicare Advantage, Managed Medicaid and Commercial group health, behavioral health, worker’s compensation and auto insurer markets, since October 2016 and as an Operating Partner of MBF Healthcare Partners LP, a private equity fund focused on the healthcare sector, since June 2016. Previously, Mr. Berardo served as Chief Executive Officer of Brighton Health Plan Services, LLC (“Brighton Health”), a healthcare enablement company, from 2013 to 2015. Brighton Health was the controlling shareholder of MagnaCare and Privia Medical. Mr. Berardo spent 18 years at MagnaCare Holdings, Inc. (“MagnaCare”), a provider of health plan services, in various roles of increasing seniority, including as Chief Executive Officer from 2007 to 2016, President from 2005 to 2016 and Vice President of Sales and Marketing from 2003 to 2005. He was a member of the board of MagnaCare from 2007 to 2021 and Privia from 2018 to 2021. Prior to that, Mr. Berardo served as Senior Vice President of Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield and President for Empire HealthChoice HMO, Inc., a health maintenance organization (HMO), from 1996 to 2000. Earlier in his career, Mr. Berardo held leadership positions at the Mount Sinai Health System. Inc., an integrated healthcare system located in New York, New York, MultiPlan Corporation (NYSE: MLPN), a leading provider of data analytics and technology-enabled solutions designed to bring affordability, efficiency and fairness to the U.S. healthcare industry and U.S. Healthcare, Inc., one of America’s largest HMOs. Since 2016, Mr. Berardo has served as a member of the board of directors for BeneLynk, a national provider of social determinant of health solutions from managed care companies, Radius Care, Inc., a healthcare software company, since January 2022, and Avertix ,(formally Angel Med) a medical device company with the only FDA approved Class III implantable device that can detect silent heart attacks in real time, since January 2023. He also serves as an advisory board member for Grant Avenue Capital, LLC, a private equity firm focused on the healthcare sector, since January 2020. Mr. Berardo is a prior Crains NY Business 40 under 40 and NJ Biz Power 50 in Healthcare. Mr. Berardo holds a B.A. in Economics from Rutgers University.

Mr. Berardo resides in North Palm Beach with his wife Alyssa and son Jonathan. He has 3 grown children, Tyler, Charleston SC, Madison, Asbury Park, NJ and Grant, Sea Girt, NJ. He has previously served on the Boards of Gulda’s Club NY, Partnership for the Homeless, NY, Ocean Medical Center Foundation (Chair), Make A Wish NJ (Chair) and Visiting Nurse Services, NJ/FL.
