New Year’s Resolutions

It is that time of year again where you make resolutions to eat healthier, go to the gym more and take a step back from social media. Make this year special by creating resolutions as a family.

Create a Weekly Routine
Choose an activity for your family to do each week together. This can be playing a new board game, creating a top movie list to watch or having a “family cook-off.” This will give kids something to look forward to while also creating lasting memories.

Family Fitness
Create a fun fitness routine that the family can do together. After school go to the park and pick an activity to do. You can even sign up for a local 5k and complete it together! This will help you with your fitness goals while keeping the whole family active.

Volunteer
Teaching kids to give back to others is extremely important. There are always opportunities to lend a helping hand and make a difference in your own community. Pick an organization as a family and decide what you can do to help.

Place of Hope is always looking for volunteers! Below is a list of ways you, and your family, can get involved.

  • Prepare a cooked meal for a family cottage
  • Host a diaper drive
  • Come to the campus and assist with cleaning around the property
  • Join an event committee
  • Attend a foster parent orientation class
  • Mentoring and Tutoring
  • Foster Closet Clothing organization

“A Godsend for These Kids”

Their concern and care for the kids is very obvious. The staff are dedicated to their well-being, adjustment, and advancement. The local business community is tremendous in its support for the mission. All in all, a Godsend for these young people. Keep up the good work, and God bless you all.
